Director of Development
Status: Exempt Full time
Reports to: Chief Development Officer
The Director of Development provides support and assistance to the CEO and the Chief Development Officer in the implementation of a strategic approach to fundraising which includes capital campaign, major gifts, corporate donations, grant solicitation, special fundraising events and in-kind resources. Further, the Director of Development assists and supports the CEO, CDO, and the Fundraising Committee in the development of sound short- and long-range fundraising plans for ChildSafe. This position helps ensure that year-end financial goals are attained. ChildSafe currently has an operating budget of $3.5 million dollars.
ChildSafe seeks a seasoned, responsible, focused individual, with outstanding organizational skills. Extensive experience in and knowledge of fundraising is required. The successful candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative, strategic, professional, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy on each project. We are looking for demonstrated success in supervising progressively larger teams. A history of excellent writing, analytical, and research skills is essential. Candidates must have a high level of computer literacy, including experience using online databases and other sources to locate financial and philanthropic information, and possess exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, volunteers, Board members, donors, and prospective donors.
Bachelor’s degree is required. Five to seven years fundraising experience relevant to the responsibilities.
