Grants Accountant

Status: Exempt Full Time

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Basic Functions: 

Basic Functions: ChildSafe, a leader in the field of trauma treatment and services for children and families in Bexar County, is seeking a Grants Accountant. The Grants Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and budgets for private foundation and government grants as well as subsequent reports to these grantors. Additionally, this position will provide assistance in various accounting functions including, but not limited to, month-end closing and preparation of financial statements. The person in this position will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Development Team to assist in securing, tracking, and maintaining agency funding.

Education/Skills/Training Requirements:  ChildSafe seeks a responsible, focused individual, with outstanding organizational skills who thrives in a team environment focused on achieving the financial goals of the agency. The successful candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, professional, flexible, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy on each project. Additionally, as a valued member of a team, this individual must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbally with team members of diverse backgrounds. Candidates must have a high level of computer literacy, including experience using Microsoft Office applications and QuickBooks.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field and two years of accounting experience preferably in a nonprofit environment is required.
