Adventure Therapy Supplies
At ChildSafe, we are building up the Adventure Therapy program and need your help!
Adventure Therapy helps to heal the body as well as the soul since clients are traumatized by the effects of sexual abuse long after the physical threat has ended. Our approach to Adventure Therapy recognizes that children who are sexually abused often struggle to establish trust, respect, confidence, and a sense of security in their lives so we create an environment that encourages our clients to view themselves in a more empowered way. Our Adventure Therapy department promotes physical as well as emotional resilience as our clients are challenged to discover their resourcefulness and capacity for healing through activities such as rock climbing, kayaking, camping, and archery. By inviting members of the client’s family system into this therapeutic endeavor, we also promote the reestablishment of a family’s sense of competency and revitalize their faith as a strong family unit.

Backpacks-4-Kids
As school ends and the summer begins, we are busy working to help our clients prepare for school to begin again in the fall. 67% of the families at ChildSafe have an annual income of about $15,000. By helping provide our clients with school supplies through our Backpacks 4 Kids drive, we can relieve this concern to help them focus on what is truly important...the healing of their child.
To make this drive a success, we need your support. Download a flyer, supply list, and a participation form that outline the details of Backpacks 4 Kids. Should you decide to participate in this venture, please fax the participation form to (210) 675-9000 by June 30th.

Halos Gift Drive
Thanks to all of the generous donations that we received, the 2009 HALOS Gift Drive was a success! 275 children and 91 families received gifts and a little piece of Holiday cheer! We look forward to the 2010 drive and bringing joy to the lives of children impacted by sexual abuse, which we can do only with your help and generosity!
The 2010 HALOS Gift Drive needs your help to collect gifts, monetary donations and other gift oriented items! This holiday season, you can
- sponsor one or more children or a whole family (ChildSafe will provide you with each child’s first name, age, and personalized wish list),
- provide a monetary donation or
- do a collection drive (This can include a Gift Drive, a Stocking Drive, or collect items from the ChildSafe Wish List).
All donations should be received by December 9th, 2010. Please make checks payable to ChildSafe. Please Include HALOS in your memo line.
