Conference Mission
To equip professionals with the skills necessary to successfully work with and on behalf of abused/neglected children and at-risk youth.
Target Audience
This conference is presented to the professional community every December to encourage best practices and understanding of the most current research available. Physicians, nurses, law enforcement, CPS staff, school faculty/admin, mental health and social service professionals, ecumenical/pastoral staff, attorneys, and child advocates among others are encouraged to attend. This training is also beneficial to undergraduate and post graduate students working toward a degree in the above fields.
The 2008 Child Abuse Conference will include 2 keynote sessions and 20+ breakout sessions over the course of 2 days. Workshops will include (but are not limited to):

Fees Include: Conference workbook, tote bag, continental breakfast, snacks/refreshments, continuing education credits and Certificate of Instruction, plus access to resource tables and vendors. Every registrant will automatically be entered to win a FREE registration to ChildSafe's 2009 Child Abuse Conference (December).

Exhibitor Information
There are a limited number of exhibitor tables available for a fee. Call the Training/Education Coordinator at 210-675-9000 for assistance. Tables are reserved on a first come, first serve basis.
Exhibitor fees include one table (6') and seating for 1-2 persons. Norris will provide table skirting. Fees
do not include admission into the conference. To avoid over duplication of products/services offered at
this event, ChildSafe reserves the right to deny potential vendors. If a payment is made and vendor
cannot be accepted into the event, a refund in full will be issued.

Cancellation Policies:
Refund Requests - Can't make it? Refund requests received by 10/24/08 are eligible for a refund, minus a $40 service charge. No refunds will be made after 10/24. Notice of cancellation MUST be made in writing and mailed to: ChildSafe, c/o Training Coordinator , 7130 W. U.S. Hwy 90, San Antonio, TX 78227. Transfer Policy- Substitutes welcome! The original registrant should submit a notice in writing by mail, fax, or email 3 days before the event. Please indicate the name and contact information (an email address and place of employment will suffice) for the new registrant.
Continuing Education Information:
Continuing education is typically awarded to mental health and medical professionals, as well as to judges and law enforcement. Every year, ChildSafe aims to approve the ENTIRE conference for credits. Visit www.childsafe-sa.org for updates.
Nursing contact hours have been applied for through the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Medicine (UTHSCSA) and Childsafe. UTHSCSA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
