The Problem with Abuse

Child sexual abuse is a serious problem in our society. Each year the reported number of children being abused continues to climb. Forty percent of females and sixteen percent of males in San Antonio report having at least one unwanted sexual experience prior to their 18th birthday.

Approximately 1,800 children were served last year by ChildSafe. We coordinate the skills of medical, mental health, prosecution, law enforcement and casework professionals to ensure that children are protected and treated with dignity and respect.
