Volunteer Opportunities

ChildSafe has many opportunities for those that like to give the most important gift of all, their time. Volunteers are the heart of non-profit agencies. Whether you volunteer in leadership and serve on the governing board, work a special event, or bring your talents each week, you can help ChildSafe carry out the mission of serving sexually abused children in our community.

List of Needs / Events

Special Events volunteers help plan and carry out special events to benefit ChildSafe. Committees are formed throughout the year to make Child events special and successful. Commitments can extend from 2 to 3 months to 1 year, depending on event.

Greeters welcome children and families to ChildSafe, making them feel comfortable and at ease. Greeters direct families to the appropriate staff person to get answers to any questions they may have and engage the children, as they spend time in our waiting area, in activities such as playing board games, coloring, reading, and watching videos. Greeters are needed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Greeters must be at least 18 years of age.

Helpers are crucial to the work at ChildSafe. They help with office work and the many behind the scenes and day-to-day activities that keep ChildSafe running smoothly.

Community Outreach Volunteers are ambassadors who represent ChildSafe in the community by sharing information about ChildSafe and child sexual abuse through short presentations or as a representative at health and community fairs. Volunteers will work with the Education Coordinator to carry out various duties in outreach and education. This is a long-term volunteer commitment and requires additional training beyond of the traditional ChildSafe volunteer orientation.

Garden Angels maintain our Healing Garden and center grounds. Duties include watering the garden, pruning plants, maintaining shrubs, trees, and flowerbeds around the property.

NOTE: Criminal background checks are conducted initially and annually on all active volunteers.
