Bilingual Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Specialist
Status: Exempt Full Time (This is not an Intern position)
Reports to: Director of Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare
Seeking a full-time Bilingual Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare (OBH) Specialist. Under the supervision of the Director of Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare (OBH), and in coordination with the Multidisciplinary Team, the Bilingual Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Specialist is responsible for providing support services to child victims and their non-offending family members.
As a trauma informed agency, success in this position requires a focus on establishing a core service relationship based on true collaboration with the client and client’s family; requires a high degree of organization and the ability to multi-task in a high energy environment. Must be comfortable using a computer and entering data; have excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Basic responsibilities include: Serves as point of contact for incoming OBH referrals; Schedules appointments for client enrollment and adventure-based services; Maintains communication with clients, therapists, family support specialists, OBH team members, and other partners to ensure coordination of services; Tracks client participation and maintains effective working relationships with OBH staff and other agency representatives; Identifies client and family assessments due monthly and requests these from OBH Therapists; Provides follow-up phone calls, face-to-face meetings, and focus groups with families who access OBH services at the agency to assure their needs have been met; Assists with general office duties, filing client information, keeping minutes of OBH and ChildSafe Wellness Team meetings, preparing forms and other documents as needed; Assists with adventure therapy programming and trainings, as needed; Maintains outdoor equipment, as appropriate, and shops for program supplies in preparation for client services and trainings; Participates in weekly case staffing with team members; and, helps to publicize and manage calendar of events for OBH and ChildSafe Wellness Initiative.
Experience/Education Required: Bilingual (Spanish/English) abilities required; Possesses a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology or a related field; Experience with diverse cultures, languages, and situations; Ability to communicate exceptionally well both orally and in writing; Experience working with children and families in crisis; Knowledge of and experience in working with child abuse issues; Ability to organize a variety of tasks and deal with a variety of people; Excellent telephone skills; Possess proficient computer skills. Knowledge of Social Solutions “Efforts to Outcomes” a plus; Training in crisis management preferred; Must have a telephone, reliable transportation, auto liability insurance and possess a current Texas Driver’s License; Ability to pass a criminal background check and CPS registry check.
