ChildSafe offers comprehensive, basic training on sexual behavior problems in children. Children with sexual behavior problems (SBP) are identified as “children ages 12 and younger who initiate behaviors involving sexual body parts (such as genitals, anus, buttocks, or breasts) that are developmentally inappropriate or potentially harmful to themselves or others.”
Participants learn to distinguish between normal healthy sexual developments from sexually “acting out.” These children have been exposed to sexually explicit materials, environment, or have been victimized, and they are attempting to cope with their own overwhelming feelings.
This training provides important information on child development, definitions, handling behaviors, and reporting procedures.
