Give Through a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)
Thank you for considering ChildSafe in your donor-advised fund giving. A DAF grant is one of the easiest and most tax-efficient ways to support survivors of child abuse in our community.
DAF Day 2026 is observed on Thursday October 8th,
as a national day of giving focused on Donor-Advised Funds.
What is DAF Day?
DAF Day is a national giving day that encourages donors and nonprofits to maximize the impact of Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs), which are charitable savings accounts allowing donors to contribute assets, receive immediate tax benefits, and recommend grants to causes over time It is designed to create a collective moment for bigger, better giving, enabling supporters to amplify their charitable impact by coordinating donations on a single day

A Few Things to Know
- DAF grants are made directly by your fund sponsor and cannot be used to fulfill a personal pledge or in exchange for goods or services.
- Because your charitable deduction was already claimed when you contributed to your DAF, grants from the fund are not separately tax-deductible. Please consult your tax advisor with questions specific to your situation.
- Since the grant check comes from your DAF sponsor rather than from you directly, please let us know if you’d like an acknowledgment for your personal records. We’re happy to send one.
Ongoing and Legacy Giving
Many donors choose to recommend an annual grant to ChildSafe, or name ChildSafe as a successor or charitable beneficiary of their fund. If you’d like to discuss either option, we’d welcome the conversation.
